My research focuses on developing deeper understanding on human brain tumor cells. Among the different types of brain tumor cells, Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most malignant type known to the science community. The GBM cells contain a kind of cells called cancer stem cells (CSCs). This type of cells can renew itself and differentiate which eventually leads to proliferation of GBM cells even after the treatment. Using 3D polymer scaffolds, we are trying to create similar microenvironment in which the GBM cells reside and observe how the CSCs behave under different situations.I am currently a sophomore in the Cornell College of Engineering (Class of 2014). I am pursing B.S. degree in Biological Engineering with a minor in Biomedical Engineering.
