My research focuses on investigating the interplay between obesity and breast cancer. Breast tissue mainly consists of adipose tissue, which contains adipocytes and adipose stromal cells (ASCs), which exhibit different cellular and mechanical properties between lean and obese groups. This may result in differences in angiogenic behaviors, extracellular matrix remodeling, etc. Thus, I am interested in investigating the pro-angiogenic capacity of the obesity-associated adipocytes and ASCs and designing novel microrfludic platforms to for screening.
I received B.S in Biomedical Engineering from Georgia Tech, Georgia in 2013. Outside lab, I love traveling and exploring natural parks.
